Cannot Upgrade Evaluation Version of Small Business Server SP1 by Installing Standard Version of Small Business Server 2000 (327673)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to upgrade an evaluation version of Small Business Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) by installing a full-package version of Small Business Server 2000, Setup is unsuccessful, and you receive the following error message:
This program is incompatible with this version of Windows.
Setup then quits.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because, by design, installation of the standard version of Small Business Server 2000 is not supported on the Small Business Server 2000 SP1 installation. This restriction includes evaluation installations of Small Business Server 2000 SP1.

RESOLUTION

To remove the time bomb on an evaluation version of Small Business Server 2000 SP1, install a full-package version of Small Business Server 2000 SP1.

This behavior is by design.
