Part 1: Download and Install the Patch

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

Part 2: Activate the Patch

To activate this patch:

1. Quit Outlook.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
4. Locate the following key:

   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences

5. Click the Preferences key, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
6. Type ExplorerMultipleControlEvents, and then press ENTER.
7. Right-click ExplorerMultipleControlEvents, and then click Modify.
8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
9. On the File menu, click Exit.

This fix is a post-Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) fix. To install the fix, you must have Office XP SP-2 installed.
