SYMPTOMS
You may see IrEvents error 8205 in Event Viewer on computers that have an infrared port. This error has the following text:
The infrared file transfer service encountered an error while checking for configuration changes. Changes made from the Wireless Link control panel will not take effect until the next logon session. The error reported was 6.
RESOLUTION
Service pack information

Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
