Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) addresses the following bugs and update scenarios:
- Incorrect Language in Hungarian Help File
An incorrect language module (Czech) is included with the Hungarian Help file.
- Index Server Displays the Source Code of Active Server Page Framework (ASPX) Files
Index Server indexes and displays .aspx files by using a text filter instead of an HTML filter. This causes the ASPX source code to be displayed.
- Update to Include the Following Internet Explorer 5.5 and Outlook Express Service Pack Updates
This update includes the Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and Microsoft Outlook Express fixes for the following bugs:- Secure receipts are not correctly encoded.
- Outlook Express does not synchronize Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) messages when All Messages is selected.
- GPS update to change the term "IVORY COAST" to "Cote d''Ivoire" in the English Wab.cab file.
- E-mail addresses are corrupted when manually typed into a message rule:
When you create a mail message rule to forward messages from a specific account to selected recipients, and you manually type the recipient e-mail addresses in the Select People dialog box, the e-mail addresses are malformed when you click OK.
NOTE: This behavior does not occur if you do not leave a space between each manually typed e-mail address.
- Outlook Express buffer overrun vulnerability when you receive mail from a POP3 server.
- Your e-mail address and user name appear in the URL when you receive a digital ID from Microsoft:
When you click Get Digital ID on the Security tab in the Options dialog box in Internet Explorer, your user name and e-mail address appear in the Address bar. - Outlook Express accepts a certificate without verification:
When Outlook Express receives a certificate by using POP3 over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection, it does not verify the validity of the certificate.
- Repeated security warning messages when you use a secure IMAP server with a nonverified certificate:
When you connect to a secure IMAP server and have a nonverified certificate, you receive the following message each time that you submit information to the server:
