BUG: The Names of the Meeting Notes and Phone Memo Templates Are Reversed (324107)

SYMPTOMS

For the Chinese Traditional (CHT) language Pocket PC 2002, the names of the Phone Memo and Meeting Notes templates are reversed. As a result, the wrong template is used when you try to create either a new note or a phone memo.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, you can use the ActiveSync file explorer to rename the template files as follows:
  1. Cradle the device to start an ActiveSync connection.
  2. From the ActiveSync File menu, select Explore.
  3. Move to the \My Documents\Templates folder.
  4. Select the Meeting_Notes.pwi file, and then rename it Temp.pwi.
  5. When you receive a prompt, click Yes to rename the read-only file.
  6. Rename Phone_Memo.pwi as Meeting_Notes.pwi.
  7. When you receive a prompt, click Yes to rename the read-only file.
  8. Rename Temp.pwi as Phone_Memo.pwi.
  9. Click Yes to rename the read-only file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
