Links 2001: Error Message: No Courses Have Been Installed (323957)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to play Microsoft Links 2001, the game may stop responding or you may receive the following error message:
No courses have been installed. You may not start a game until at least one course has been installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, manually copy the courses from the Links 2001 CD-ROM. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Links 2001.
  2. On the Links 2001 main menu screen, click Options.
  3. On the Options screen, click Course Manager.
  4. Insert Disc 3 of the Links 2001 CD-ROM set into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
  5. On the Course Manager screen, click Add.
  6. In the Add Course Browser dialog box, navigate to the following folder

    drive:\Game\Courses

    where drive is the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive that contains Disc 3 of the Links 2001 set.
  7. Select all or the courses listed, and then click Add.
  8. In the Copy Course dialog box, click Yes to All.
  9. Click OK to return to the Options screen.
