BUG: Validation in AutogenTime for Fiscal Calendar Does Not Trap Invalid First Day of Month (323904)

SYMPTOMS

If the First Day of Month value for the Fiscal calendar is not valid in the AutogenTime worksheet of the Analytics Builder workbook, the worksheet validates. However, when you click Generate Application to generate the application from the workbook, the following error is logged:
Error: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type smalldatetime.
Location: CreateSQLDatabases/ExecSP_Sym_Create
Analytics Builder processing halted unexpectedly.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Step to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Open the Analytics Builder workbook.
  2. In the AutogenTime worksheet of the Analytics Builder workbook, click to select the Fiscal check box to enable the Fiscal calendar.
  3. In the First Month of Year box, type 2.
  4. In the First Day of Month box, type 30.
  5. On ABW Toolbar menu, click Validate this sheet to validate the AutogenTime worksheet. You receive the following message in the Analytics Builder workbook: Success. Sheet AutogenTime passed validation. Click OK to close the message box.
  6. In the Analytics Builder workbook, click the Processing worksheet.
  7. Click Generate Application to generate the application from the workbook. The following error is logged in the Microsoft Analytics Builder Workbook Logfile of the Log date worksheet:
    Error: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type smalldatetime.
    Location: CreateSQLDatabases/ExecSP_Sym_Create
    Analytics Builder processing halted unexpectedly.
