Redirection responses may contain meaningless (or garbage) characters after you apply the Internet Information Services (IIS) Security Rollup Patch (SRP). CAUSE

This problem occurs because the string that is used for the redirect is non-terminating.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
