The StgCreateDocFile() Function Causes an "STG_E_FILEALREADYEXISTS" Error in Windows XP (323299)

After a program makes many calls to the StgCreateDocFile function to create compound storage objects, an "STG_E_FILEALREADYEXISTS (0x80030050)" error is returned and a memory leak occurs in the process.
CAUSE
A code flaw causes a 512-byte memory leak that occurs when a memory-mapping operation does not succeed.
