This article was previously published under Q321664

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, after you cut and paste, or copy and paste, custom outline code entries in a lookup table, the outline code values that were previously assigned to existing tasks or resources may be missing.

For example, after you cut and paste entries in a lookup table that contains task outline code information, the outline code values that were assigned to existing tasks in your project no longer appear in Gantt Chart view.

The custom outline codes can be any of the following:
  • Task or resource outline codes (in Microsoft Project Standard and Microsoft Project Professional)
  • Enterprise task, resource, or project outline codes (in Microsoft Project Professional)

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, reenter the outline code value that you want to assign to the field for the task or resource, as appropriate.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
