XCON: The "LegacyGWART" Attribute Is Not Updated for All of the Routing Changes (321475)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q321475 SYMPTOMS
The LegacyGWART attribute of the site addressing object (which maps to the Gateway Routing Tree attribute in Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5) may be updated only when changes are made to the routing group that contains the Routing Information Daemon (RID) master. The LegacyGWART attribute may not be updated when changes are made to the whole administrative group.
This problem is only visible in Exchange 2000-only administrative groups with multiple routing groups.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the RID master only notices changes in the local routing group (not in other routing groups in the same administrative group).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

301378 XGEN: How to Obtain the Latest Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack
The English version of this fix has the following file attributes or later:
Component: Message Transport
|
Reapi.dll | 6.0.5771.11 | Resvc.dll | 6.0.5771.11 | Tranmsg.dll | 6.0.5771.11 | NOTE: Because of file dependencies, this update requires Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, change the RID master. This recreates the LegacyGWART attribute. To change the RID master, you have to change the RID master attribute of the site addressing object.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
