You receive an "A runtime error has occurred" message when you open the Outlook Today page (320763)

go directly to Outlook Today option enabled or you click Outlook Today to open the Outlook Today page, you may receive an error message
that is similar to the following: A runtime error has
occurred. Do you wish to debug? Line: 297 Error: class not registered.
CAUSE This behavior can occur if your Outlook 2002 installation
is damaged. RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the
following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your
product documentation to complete these steps. Step 1: Rename the Outlwvw.dll File- Quit all running programs.
- Click Start, and then click Search.
- Click All files and folders.
- In the All or part of the file name box,
type outlwvw.dll.
- In the Look in list, click Local
Hard Drives (C:), and then click Search.
- In the right pane of the Search Results window, right-click OUTLWVW.DLL, and then click Rename.
- Rename the Outlwvw.dll file to
outlwvw.old, and then press ENTER.
- On the File menu, click Close.
Step 2: Repair Outlook 2002- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove
Programs.
- In the Currently installed programs list,
click the Microsoft Office product from which you installed Outlook 2002, and
then click Change. Microsoft Office XP Setup starts.
- Click Repair Office, and then click Next.
- Click Detect and Repair errors in my Office
installation, and then click Install.
- Click OK when you receive the message that states that Microsoft Office
Setup has successfully repaired your installation.
- Click Close to close the Add or Remove Programs dialog
box.
