The Region Settings in Contacts Are Not Updated by Regional Settings in Control Panel (319729)

SYMPTOMS

If you use the Regional Settings tool in Control Panel to change to a different country/region, the Country/Region box in the Contacts tool retains its existing setting.

CAUSE

These settings are independent of one another. The Contacts tool does not use the system-wide regional settings when it determines which country/region to use. Instead, the Contacts tool uses its own setting as a template for new contacts.

The Area Code and Country/Region settings for new contacts are automatically created, based on the information in the options for the Contacts tool.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are having trouble reading the contacts in the contact list, tap Use large font. You then see less contact information.
