PRB: BizTalk Server 2000 Setup Fails When Setup Communicates with SQL Server on a Cluster (317775)

SYMPTOMS

If you install Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 on a stand-alone computer and the Microsoft SQL Server databases are running on a Windows Clustering-based cluster, Setup fails during the database setup portion and the following error message is generated:
BizTalk Server failed to access the InterchangeBTM database on the SQL Server server with the database connection information.

CAUSE

This is due to a problem with the SQLOLEDB provider in Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, upgrade to MDAC 2.7.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
