XADM: An Excessive Number of LDAP Queries for Deleted Objects Are Passed to the Directory Service (313988)

SYMPTOMS

The Exchange 2000 DSAccess component may perform an excessive number of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) queries to the directory service. You can monitor these queries by taking a Network Monitor (NetMon) trace from the Exchange 2000 server. The NetMon trace indicates that the LDAP queries that are being passed to Active Directory are requesting the properties of deleted objects.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

NOTE: Because of file dependencies, this update requires Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 3.
