FIX: The Visual Studio .NET Properties window does not respond after you run debug (313899)

This article was previously published under Q313899 SYMPTOMS After you debug a Visual Studio .NET application, the
Properties window may not respond when you press F4 or when you select Properties Window on the View menu. CAUSE If both the Properties window and the Output window are set
to Auto Hide, the Properties window is not available after you run debug.
RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:
- Quit and then restart the Visual Studio .NET integrated
development environment (IDE).
-or-
- Pin the Dynamic Help window, which is, by default, docked
to the Properties window. Press F4 to create the Properties Window tab.
NOTE: It is recommended that you change your settings so that the
Properties window and the Output window are not both set to Auto Hide. This will prevent the issue from recurring. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft
products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This bug
was corrected in Visual Studio .NET (2003).
