WD: Single-Byte and Double-Byte Numbers Are Not Displayed in the Word List of the Consistency Checker (313857)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word 2002
- Microsoft Word 2000
This article was previously published under Q313857 NOTE: The information in this article applies to the Japanese version%3 of Word 2002 and Word 2000. SYMPTOMS
Single-byte and double-byte numbers are not displayed in the Word List after you run the Japanese Consistency Checker. If figures with a prefix or suffix are checked, these are recognized as consistency errors.
CAUSE
This behavior is the result of a design change in the Japanese Consistency Checker. In Word 97, independent single-byte and double-byte numbers are displayed in the Word List of the Japanese Consistency Checker. In Word 2000 and Word 2002, the consistency checker does not check these numbers, because the consistency check is carried out against only words and documents that are recognized as Japanese. The consistency check is never conducted against half-width or full-width figures, which are recognized as English in their single use.
NOTE: When you place the insertion point on any character strings, you can confirm the language in the status bar at the bottom of the Word window.
