RPC clients cannot connect to the servers that are behind ISA Server (312893)

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) client computers (for example, Microsoft Outlook clients that use RPC), cannot connect to an RPC server (for example, a Microsoft Exchange server that is behind Internet Security and Acceleration [ISA] Server) when the RPC server has more than four Internet protocol (IP) addresses that are bound to its network adapter. This problem occurs when you use server publishing to publish the multihomed RPC server on the ISA Server.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the RPC filter in ISA Server does not publish when the server that is hosting the RPC program is multihomed with more than four IP addresses.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain latest service pack for ISA Server 2000.

WORKAROUND
The work around this problem, reduce the number of IP addresses to less than four IP addresses that are bound to the RPC server.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
This problem was corrected in ISA Server 2000 SP1.
