OL2002: Duplicate Toolbars Appear in Outlook (312331)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Outlook, multiple or duplicate toolbars may appear.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, delete any occurrences of the Outcmd.dat file.

In Windows 98

  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type outcmd.dat, and then click Find Now.
  3. For each occurrence of the Outcmd.dat file, right-click the Outcmd.dat file, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion.

In Windows Millennium Edition or Windows 2000

  1. Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
  2. In the Search for files or folders named box, type outcmd.dat, and then click Search Now.
  3. Under Search Results, for each occurrence of the Outcmd.dat file, right-click the Outcmd.dat file, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion.
