Mouse Does Not Work After You Install Windows 2000 on an HP Pavilion 6635 Computer (312018)

After you install Windows 2000 on a Hewlett-Packard (HP) Pavilion 6635 computer, you may have no mouse functionality in either Normal or Safe mode. Using a different mouse does not resolve the issue.
CAUSE
This issue can occur because of an incorrect setting in the computer BIOS.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, change the Installed OS setting in the computer BIOS:
- During startup, enter the computer BIOS setup.
- Click Installed OS.
- Change the installed operating system to Win98/Windows 2000.
- Save the change.
- Restart the computer.
