SUMMARY

In Internet Information Services (IIS) version 6.0, Common Gateway Interface (CGI) timeout events are logged to the Event Viewer Application log. These events are logged in the System log in earlier versions of IIS.

MORE INFORMATION

In IIS 6.0, worker processes run under the low-privileged user account, which is Network Service by default. This account does not have the appropriate level of permissions to write to the System event log. Administrator-level privileges are required to write to the System event log.
