Cannot synchronize with Palm Handheld device (311587)

SYMPTOMS

One of the following symptoms occurs when you try to synchronize data between Microsoft Entourage X and a handheld device that is running the PalmPilot operating system (Palm OS):
  • When you try to synchronize data between Entourage X and a handheld device that is running the PalmPilot operating system (Palm OS), you receive the following error message:
    The application conduit manager has unexpectedly quit.
  • If you install the Handheld Sync Installer, you receive the following error message when you try to synchronize data between Entourage X and a handheld device that is running the PalmPilot operating system (Palm OS):
    Installation failed - Microsoft plug-in component is not found.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because of an issue with the Handheld Sync Installer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, you must install the Handheld Sync Installer for your Microsoft Entourage version to synchronize with Entourage. To download and install the correct version of Handheld Sync Installer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
