WINS Administration Tool in Adminpak.msi Does Not Work Correctly on Windows Server 2003 (311572)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the WINS Administration tool from Adminpak.msi to view a server that is running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, you may not see any WINS records, and you may receive a "There are no items to display" message.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because of changes that have been made to RPC security in Windows Server 2003.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
