The Device Manager Tab Is Missing (311112)

SYMPTOMS

When you view the System Properties dialog box, you may notice that the Device Manager tab is not displayed.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if one or more of the following files is missing or damaged:
  • Sysdm.cpl
  • Setupx.dll
  • Setup4.dll

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, extract new copies of these files from your original Windows compact disc (CD) to the Windows\System folder. For additional information about how to extract files, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
