Access Violation When You Run ASP Page or VBScript Program (310407)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to run an Active Server Pages (ASP) Web page or a program written with Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) on your Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, you may see symptoms similar to the following:
  • You receive an "access violation" error message.
  • The program stops responding (crashes).

CAUSE

This problem can occur because of changes in VBScript 5.6 that are included with Windows XP. These changes may cause some incompatibilities with programs that were written with VBScript 5.5.

RESOLUTION

STATUS
