XGEN: Services Stop and Cause Virtual Machine Failover but MdUtil Shows Virtual Machine as Still Running (309767)

When you are managing Exchange 2000 Server in a clustered environment, and an Exchange Server service terminates, the virtual machine that is hosting the terminated service (or the corresponding Internet Information Services service) may not go offline as it should after successful failover to another node. When you run MdUtil.exe, the virtual machine is listed as still running.
