MS Mail Users Cannot View Embedded Clip Gallery or Graph 2000 Objects Sent from Exchange 2000 Users (309728)

SYMPTOMS

When you are running Exchange 2000 Server, which you have configured with an MS Mail Connector, and you have the connector set to maximize MS Mail 3.x compatibility, MS Mail users cannot view certain objects that are embedded in messages that originate in Exchange Server.

Specifically, embedded Microsoft Clip Gallery objects and Microsoft Graph 2000 Chart objects are not properly displayed.

The following information is recorded in the Application log on the Exchange 2000 Server:
Event ID: 2403
Category: Session Data
Type: Warning
Source: MSExchangeMSMI
Description: Failure converting OLE v2 object to OLE v1, OLE Object Class not registered in message C=us;A= ;P=MyOrg;l=TESTCAL-010122193734Z-3. Please check the Administrators Guide for details on registering OLE objects on the Exchange Server machine.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
