When you drag an emoticon in the instant message window, the emoticon correctly disappears from its original location, but a space (rather than the emoticon) is inserted at the destination.
WORKAROUND
To insert an emoticon in another location, place the cursor where you want the emoticon to appear, click the emoticon button, and then click the icon you want to use.
