Audio Error Message When You Start Windows (309457)

SYMPTOMS

When you start your computer, you may receive one or both of the following error messages:
The device "Audio Split" could not load the global filter: AEC-Input filter. Audio services will continue without this filter.
Press any key to continue.
-or-
The device "Audio Mix" could not load the global filter AEC-Output filter. Audio services will continue without this filter.
Press any key to continue.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when you have Video Phone with ProShare Technology on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove VIASPOXD from the registry. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VIASPOXD

  4. Right-click the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VIASPOXD, key, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu. When the confirmation message appears, click Yes.
  5. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.
