Some UNIX-based systems support setting expiration dates on accounts, passwords, or both. These expiration dates cause additional information to be stored in the passwd map file. This additional information is stored in the password field as a comma-separated list.
If the User Name Mapping service (Mapsvc) that is included with Services for UNIX 2.0 is configured to collect information from a UNIX NIS server, and the password field contains commas, Mapsvc may not parse the NIS passwd map file correctly.
When this problem occurs, a UID of 0 is displayed for the user, instead of the correct UID.
