XADM: The Mailbox Store Does Not Update Content Indexing Scheduling Information from the Directory Service (309204)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

This article was previously published under Q309204

SYMPTOMS

A mailbox store may not update content indexing scheduling information during an update from the directory service.

CAUSE

The mailbox store returns the globally unique identifier (GUID) of an object based on different types of information (NTDN, SMTP proxy, LegacyDN, and so on). All of these functions expect the objects to have a mailbox GUID to return failures; this problem can occur if the objects do not have one.

The scheduling occurs in the background, based on timed events. This can result in an inability to process a timed event for a Messaging Database (MDB), which disables background event processing on that MDB until the next mailbox store recycle.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
