XADM: Reordering Recipient Policies Does Not Function as Expected in an Exchange 2000-Only Administrative Group (309118)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

This article was previously published under Q309118

SYMPTOMS

When you reorder recipient policies in an Exchange 2000-only administrative group, the priority may not be reordered correctly. If these recipient policies were inherited from a Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 installation, duplicate priorities may also appear.

These symptoms may occur after you switch from mixed mode to Exchange 2000 native mode. The symptoms may also occur if your Exchange organization is in mixed mode and there is at least one administrative group that has no Exchange Server 5.5 computers.

If a recipient policy is assigned a priority with the name number as another policy, this policy has a duplicate priority, which makes it impossible to change the priority of any of the policies that have a duplicate priority.
