Your Monitor Stays On When You Use a Plus! for Windows XP Screen Saver (309048)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP

This article was previously published under Q309048

SYMPTOMS

When your computer has been idle for a period of time that is longer than the amount of time you chose to have your monitor automatically turn off, your monitor may not turn off. Instead, your Plus! for Windows XP screen saver may continue to run while your monitor remains on. However, if you use a screen saver that is not included with Plus! for Windows XP, your monitor may turn off after the correct amount of time.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use a screen saver that is not included with Plus! for Windows XP.
