BUG: DTC Transaction Allows Commits While SQL Server Shuts Down (308809)

SYMPTOMS

If SQL Server is in the process of a shut down, and you attempt to commit a Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) transaction, the DTC transaction is successfully committed instead of rolling back.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.
