Cannot Start Computer After You Install BearShare 2.2.x (308712)

After you install BearShare 2.2. x on a Windows 2000 Professional-based computer, you may not be able to log on to Windows. You may receive the following error message when you try to start your computer:
SVC
HOST.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to re-start the program. An error log will be generated.
You may also receive the following error message when you try to start your computer:
The system process C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\SERVICES.EXE terminated unexpectedly with status code 128.
If you can start your computer, other programs may generate similar error messages or exhibit unusual behavior.

WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, remove BearShare, and then reinstall the Winsock Proxy client. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click BearShare, click Change/Remove, and then click OK.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall the Winsock Proxy client.
