Product ID Missing from "About Internet Explorer" Box (308079)

SYMPTOMS

If you click About on the Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Help menu, you may see that no product ID number appears next to Product ID.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur after you perform the following actions:
  1. Install Internet Explorer 6.
  2. Remove Internet Explorer 6.
  3. Reinstall Internet Explorer 6.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
