Error Message "Unrecognized Command" When You Use Non-English Voice Command with Microsoft Plus! Voice Command for Windows Media Player (307673)

When you give a voice command in a language other than English, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Unrecognized command
The error message is displayed in the Language bar.
This issue can occur when you use the Microsoft Plus! Voice Command for Windows Media Player utility, which is part of Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP.
You receive the error message, although you have configured Windows XP to use a language other than English, by following these steps:
- You install Microsoft Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack.
- You configure Microsoft Windows XP to display menus and dialog boxes in a language other than English.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Multilingual User Interface Pack language settings other than English do not apply to menus, dialog boxes, or voice commands in Microsoft Plus! Voice Command for Windows Media Player. The message that is displayed in the Language bar in response to your voice command also uses English.
When you install Multilingual User Interface Pack, you can change the menus and dialog boxes that are used by Windows XP core components to display a language other than English. This change is not applied to Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP programs.
As a result, voice commands that you give in a language other than English are not recognized by Microsoft Plus! Voice Command for Windows Media Player.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, use English voice commands in Microsoft Plus! Voice Command for Windows Media Player.
