This article was previously published under Q307317 SYMPTOMSIf you install Message Queuing (also known as MSMQ) Message Queue Information Service (MQIS) 2.0 or 3.0 on a client computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) or later, the client cannot read system access control lists (ACLs) and cannot update their own properties when they are connected to an MQIS server. Note You cannot use the Add/Remove Windows Components tool to install a Message Queuing 3.0 client that is running Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows 2000 SP3 or later against an NT 4.0 MQIS server if the Message Queuing client is a member of an Active Directory directory service domain. You must use an unattended setup file. You can only use the Add/Remove Windows Components tool to install a Message Queuing 3.0 client against an NT 4.0 MQIS server if the client is a member of an NT 4.0 domain.
