Conexant Modem and Riptide Audio Devices Do Not Work After You Install Windows 2000 on HP Pavilion (306922)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000 Professional on a Hewlett-Packard (HP) Pavilion computer, your Conexant modem and Riptide audio devices may not function properly. Device Manager lists the devices under Other devices and displays a yellow exclamation point next to the devices to indicate that there is a problem.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Conexant modem and Riptide audio devices are on a combination card that needs an updated driver to run in Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, download and install the new Windows 2000 driver for the combination card from the following HP Web site:
