SYMPTOMS

An OpenGL program that makes thousands of calls to glVertex while trying to draw a polygon, may not work, and you may receive an access violation error message.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because a logic error can cause the code to proceed past the end of an array.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, add a glFlush call after every glEnd call.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
