SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Windows Media Player, or when you use a Windows Millennium Edition (Me)-based computer, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Failed to load resource DLL C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\OLEDB\OLEDB32A.DLL.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Windows Me and Windows 2000 share a Program Files folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the latest version (2.6 or later) of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) from the following Microsoft Web site:
