When you use Microsoft Clip Organizer to search Web Collections for clips, you may be unable to view the thumbnail images of the clips as expected. A generic Windows icon, or another program icon, is displayed in the thumbnail instead of a preview of the image of the clip.

When you right-click a clip, and then click Open Clip In, you may receive the following error message:
Clip Organizer cannot complete the operation.

The application called an interface that was marshaled for a different thread.

To do this, start Clip Organizer, and then click Clips Online. Or, from your Microsoft Office XP program, point to Picture on the Insert menu, and then click Clip Art. In the Insert Clip Art task pane, click Clips Online at the bottom of the pane.

Method 2

  1. Start Clip Organizer.
  2. Click Collection List to display the Collection List task pane (if it is not already displayed).
  3. Click to expand the Web Collections folder in the Collection List tree.
  4. On the View menu, click List.
  5. In the list of folders under Web Collections, double-click any folder that contains clips to display the clips in the right pane.
  6. Right-click a clip, and then click Preview/Properties. If the thumbnail is visible in the Preview/Properties dialog box, click Close.
  7. On the View menu, click Thumbnails.
