SUMMARY

This article describes how to compact the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Reporting database. Because the Reporting database increases in size as you use it, you might want to compact the database periodically.

MORE INFORMATION

You must have exclusive access to the database while you perform this procedure.

To compact the reporting database, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Operations Manager, and then click Reporting.
  2. On the File menu, click Compact Database and Enter Design Mode to start the compaction.
If someone else is currently using the Reporting database to generate or design a report in Microsoft Access, your attempt to compact the Reporting database may generate the following error message:
You attempted to open a database that is already opened exclusively by user username on machine computername. Try again when the database is available.
