SUMMARY

At the time of this writing (July 20, 2001), currently shipping Pocket PC 3.0 devices do not support the HTTPD Web server that is included in Platform Builder 3.0.

MORE INFORMATION

The Microsoft HTTPD Web Server included with Platform Builder 3.0 is an optional operating system component. Windows CE running on current Pocket PC 3.0 devices does not include this component in ROM.

If you are an OEM and you are using Platform Builder 3.0 to build a Windows CE 3.0 device, you can include the Web server component in your custom device image.

You cannot, however, take the HTTPD component from Platform Builder 3.0 and use it with current Pocket PC devices.
