SYMPTOMS

When you try to add a constant to the data page of BizTalk Server 2000 Orchestration Designer on a computer that has the German version of Microsoft Visio 2002 installed, the following error may occur:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in BizTalk Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Service Pack 1a.

Steps to Reproduce This Behavior:

  1. Install BizTalk Server 2000 and BizTalk Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on a computer that also has Visio 2002 installed.
  2. Open the BizTalk Orchestration Designer.
  3. On the Data Page, double-click Constants, and then click Add to add a new constant.
  4. In the Value field, enter a value for the Constant property page, and then click OK.

This error has been reproduced on the following environment:

  • Operating system and language: Windows 2000 German
  • Visio version and language: Visio 2002 German
  • BizTalk version and language: BizTalk SP1 German
  • Regional settings: German
