SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Works 4.5a or Microsoft Works Suite 99 to print or export a calendar, you may receive error messages similar to the following:
Mswkscal caused an invalid page fault in wkcalctl.dll
Mswkscal caused an invalid page fault in [unknown]
When the error message is closed, the calendar program quits.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Microsoft Works Calendar program library files are damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Start Windows Explorer.
  2. Drag C:\Program Files\Msworks\Calendar\Mswkscal.wcd to My Documents.
  3. Right-click C:\Program Files\Msworks\Calendar, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.

    When the confirmation message appears, click Yes.
  4. Insert your Works 4.5a or Works 99 Suite CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
  5. Copy the following files or folders to your desktop:
    • CD-ROM drive:\Mswkscal (folder)
    • CD-ROM drive:\setup.ini (file)
    • CD-ROM drive:\setup.tdf (file)
  6. Remove your Works 4.5a or Works 99 Suite CD-ROM.
  7. Restart your computer in Safe mode.
  8. Double-click Mswkscal (now located on your desktop).
  9. In the Mswkscal window, double-click Setup.exe.
  10. When the setup process is complete, restart your computer in Normal mode.
  11. Drag C:\Program Files\Msworks\Calendar\Mswkscal.wcd to the desktop.
  12. Drag C:\My Documents\Mswkscal.wcd to the following folder:

    C:\Program Files\Msworks\Calendar
