XADM: "C1038AF7" Error Message Occurs When You Attempt to Reconnect a Mailbox (303311)

Exchange 2000 Server, you may receive the following error message:
The mailbox /O=your_orga/OU=your_site/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=username The
specified value is used by ". Facility: Exchange System Manager ID
no: c1038af7 Exchange System Manager When you try
to reconnect to a mailbox under Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, you may receive
the following error message: The legacyexchangedn value
is already being used by /O=your_orga/OU=your_site/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=username
Facility: Exchange System Manager ID no: c1038ad7 Exchange System
Manager CAUSE This behavior can occur because the mailbox in this
information store attempts to connect to a user object in Active Directory that
has the same Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) address as a mail-enabled
contact that already exists in Active Directory. RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, remove the mail-enabled contact
that has same SMTP address as the mailbox that you are attempting to reconnect.
To do this, perform the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and
Computers.
- Expand the Organization name, and then click the Users folder.
- Right click the mail-enabled contact displayed on the left,
and then click Properties.
- Click the E-mail Addresses tab and remove
the appropriate SMTP address from the list.
- Click OK, and THEN close Active Directory Users and
Computers.
