PPT2001: Graphs Shrink After Being Edited with Windows PowerPoint (302802)

SYMPTOMS

If you edit a Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Mac graph in PowerPoint 2000, you may receive the following error message:
Converting metafile
The Chart area displays the correct object outline size, but chart graphic is displayed as a very tiny dot in top left corner of chart area.

This behavior occurs when you do the following:
  1. You edit a Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Mac graph in PowerPoint 2000.
  2. You return the presentation to the Macintosh computer, and then open the presentation in PowerPoint 2001 for Mac.
NOTE: When you double-click the chart, Microsoft Graph starts. The correct datasheet values are displayed, and the chart graphic is refreshed to the proper size. However, if you edit the graph again in PowerPoint 2000, the problem returns.

RESOLUTION

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac Service Release 1.


To resolve this problem, download and install the Microsoft Office 2001 Service Release 1 file. To do so, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
