This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).

This article explains how to import or link Lotus Approach (.apr) files into Access.

Note that you can import data into either an Access database (.mdb) or an Access project (.adp), but you can link data only to an Access database.

Before you can import data from Lotus Approach into Access, you must first export the data into a file format that is compatible with Microsoft Access.

Then follow these steps to import the data into an Access database or an Access project, or to link the data to an Access database:
  1. Specify which procedure you want to perform:
    • To import data, on the File menu, point to Get External Data, and then click Import.
    • To link data, on the File menu, point to Get External Data, and then click Link Tables.
  2. In the Files of Type box, click the file format you used when you exported the Lotus Approach data.
  3. Browse to the drive and folder where the exported file is located, double-click the file, and then follow any on-screen instructions.
