PPT2001: Extra Bullet on Paragraph Appears After Opening PowerPoint 98 Presentation (301323)

When you open a presentation that was created in an earlier version of PowerPoint, a bullet character appears in a paragraph that did not have a bullet.
CAUSE
As PowerPoint 2001 for Mac reads the file, it finds an paragraph indicator incorrectly set that the paragraph has a picture bullet, therefore, when PowerPoint 2001 displays the paragraph, it displays the default bullet.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, reapply the slide layout on the problem slide.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
